Run the River in Lakefield

Lakefield’s Run the River is back!!! On Saturday, May 5th, 2012, the Lakefield 5K Run & Walk, along the banks of the scenic Katchewanooka River, will return. Once again, community members will join runners and walkers from across Ontario as they make their way around the scenic 5 km route through the heart of beautiful Lakefield.

Local volunteers will be working with local corporate partners to organize and run this wonderful event. Proceeds will benefit the programs and activities of two worthy community organizations – Lakefield Youth Unlimited and the Ontario Speed Skating Oval.

The date of the race is one week before Mothers Day on Saturday May 5th, 2012. Start time is 8:45AM at Isabel Morris Park (Water St. at Concession St. – the Arena). The race will be professionally timed and the course is great for runners of all types, as well as leisurely walkers and families (strollers welcome). Don’t miss this wonderful community event!
